Textbook Rental helps high school students and high schools who are participating in SEMO’s early college program/dual credit courses.

Requesting Rental Textbooks

The following provides some information and tips to help with the process of getting books from Textbook Rental.

Ordering Tips –

  • Textbook Rental’s inventory is based on SEMO student enrollment, so you will want to order early to avoid delays in receiving your textbooks.
  • Complete the High School Rental Book Request form (email Fletcher for a copy at [email protected]); make sure all information is entered correctly.
  • Work with Early College Program office regarding shipping/pick up/delivery.
  • Instructor Copies should be requested from the publisher; Textbook Rental does not provide desk/instructor copies for instructors.

Receiving and Distributing Books to Students Tips –

  • Each shipment will have a packing list for you to use record the student’s name and S0# beside the book number as this will help identify which student has which book.

Costs/Payment Schedule Tips –

  • If the school is paying the rental fee for the students, the rental fee will be $38 non- tax for each book rented.
  • If the student is paying the rental fee, the rental fee will be $38 plus tax, and they need to be enrolled in the course and have their S0# to check out the books.
  • An invoice will be sent to the school within one month after the start of school.
  • Do not send payment until after you have received the invoice.

Returning Rental Books Tips –

  • Books are to be returned as soon as the class is completed for the semester/year.
  • Rented textbooks must be returned in satisfactory condition.
  • Books not returned or that are not in satisfactory condition will have the replacement price charged to the student or high school depending on who paid for the initial rental fee.
  • Books are considered in satisfactory condition if they have normal wear and tear and free from
    • Torn pages
    • Damage the cover or spine
    • Stains
    • Water/Liquid damage
    • Strong odors
    • Write or highlight excessively
    • Remove/alter the Textbook Rental label on the front cover of the book
